Entrepreneur.com’s blog had a great piece on some “Do’s and Don’ts” of using social media sites when screening new hires.

Although you may be on the other side of this equation, I thought it is helpful for candidates to know what may be occurring on the employer side of this equation.  Are employers checking social media sites to evaluate new hires?  Of course they are.  Read the article for some of the practices of what you, as the candidate, should expect from the hiring company; what would be considered compelled disclosure and the Stored Communications Act that may afford you some protection; and what companies can do to help insulate themselves from potential lawsuits.

Always good to know what one can expect in the hiring process!
